The M14 EBR is a modernised version of the iconic M14 battle rifle. The M14 is still in use in various forms due to its simplicity and accuracy.
The M14 EBR has a slightly longer range than the M16 assault rifle, making it an attractive option for DMRs and medium-range snipers.
Since 2010, the US Army has issued two EBRs per platoon to soldiers operating in Afghanistan and, more recently, in Iraq.
This version utilises the Crane stock, allowing any conventional stocks that utilise the buffer tube to be mounted in its place. Being an M14, this weapon would make a fantastic base for a DMR - the upper rail offers a great mounting point for a scope, and the smaller rear rail allows you to have the scope seated correctly and not too far forward (simply attach the rear mount of the scope to the rear rail, and the front mount to the front rail). This rifle's barrel length is comparable to that of an M16, making it more than adequate for accurate shooting at standard skirmish ranges.
The metal components of this firearm are made from aluminium, rendering them (relatively) light, while the pistol grip and stock are made from a very comfortable polymer.
With a weight of 4.4 kilogrammes, this is not a "throw about" rifle, as it is composed of a substantial amount of metal, albeit lightweight aluminium. Kitting this weapon out is very easy due to the large bottom rail included on the handguard; this rifle works a treat with a folding bipod coupled with some form of grip to assist you when shouldering it; without a grip the rails can be quite sharp so should you prefer not to use an AFG or vertigrip, some rail covers are recommended to make the rifle more comfortable to shoot.
Please note that this pistol has a factory two-tone finish and is not sprayed in-house, as some other companies do. It is also made to UK specifications, with a UK 3-pin charger and the correct fps for UK games.
