S&T Sterling MK7 AEG Airsoft Submachine Gun with Suppressor in Black

The S&T Sterling MK7 AEG brings an ultra-rare piece of British firearms history into the airsoft world with near-unmatched attention to detail and authenticity. Based on the elusive “Para-pistol” variant of the Sterling SMG—issued briefly between 1986 and 1988—this electric airsoft rifle offers a unique blend of compact design, real-steel weight, and Cold War aesthetics. If you’re after a standout SMG that feels like it’s come straight out of the armoury of the British Army, this is it.

Built almost entirely from steel, the MK7 isn’t just about looks—it’s about feel. The weight, balance, and structure mirror the original weapon to an impressive degree. From the stamped-style receiver to the rugged front shroud and buffer tube, everything about this AEG screams realism. The only polymer component is the textured pistol grip, which is modelled after the original and offers solid handling whether you’re bare-handed or gloved up.

One of the most striking features is its modular barrel setup. The rifle ships with a detachable dummy suppressor and barrel extension, allowing you to switch between two classic profiles: short, no-nonsense SMG or suppressed recon platform. Whether you’re going for authenticity or tactical flair, you’ve got options right out of the box. A slimline top-mounted 20mm rail provides a mounting point for optics, while the traditional Sterling-style aperture iron sights keep it grounded in its Cold War roots.

Internally, the MK7 is just as solid. A proprietary 9mm gearbox fitted with steel 18:1 gears drives the system, paired with a short-type motor caged for torque stability. It’s rear-wired, with a mini-Tamiya connection housed behind the steel end cap—a snug fit for a 7.4v 1000mAh LiPo block battery. This setup keeps things tidy and reliable, perfect for those who want performance without compromising realism.

The rotary-style hop-up is smartly tucked beneath the barrel, accessible through a discrete port that preserves the rifle’s clean lines. It’s easy to adjust and holds its setting well—ideal for running 0.25g BBs or heavier depending on your skirmish needs. With a muzzle velocity of around 350 FPS using 0.20g BBs, the MK7 balances punch and control, making it effective in outdoor fields and tight CQB encounters alike.

The fire selector is mounted on the left side of the grip, offering safe, semi, and full-auto modes. It clicks positively into place and adds to the rifle’s period-correct controls. The charging handle is functional in feel, producing a satisfying clank that adds to the immersion, especially for milsim or reenactment events.

At just 680mm with the suppressor fitted and weighing in at a solid 3kg, the MK7 Sterling is compact, rugged, and unlike anything else on the skirmish field. Whether you’re building a historical British loadout, love unique SMGs, or simply want a conversation starter with serious field capability, this AEG fits the bill with style and steel to spare.
