Most Airgun Dot Sights are cheap and bright, so they are often made entirely of plastic. What caught my attention about this one was that it was made entirely of aluminium.
It is MADE VERY STURDY because there is NO PLASTIC in it at all. Even the lens is treated glass instead of acrylic, polycarbonate, etc.
This is good news, since most Red Dot sights are used indoors for close-range ratting and killing wild animals, where they are often bumped around.
Plastic ones are more likely to break, but this SMK can take a beating without a problem.
Its small size (82 mm long and 55 mm high) means that the sight can be placed low on the gun, as close to the barrel line as possible. This makes it possible to take dead-on shots at close range without having to remember to 'hold under' or 'hold over'.
A "magic eye" on the front of the sight that automatically brightens or dims the dot based on how much light is around.
When the screen is not in use, it is protected by a rubber cover.
Adjusting the zero is done with hidden allen keys that come with the gun, so it can't be easily or accidentally knocked off zero.
Coated Screen glass to help keep reflections from happening.
