This Airsoft Electric Gun is a stunning replica of the Thompson M1A1 Military Model, which made its début during World War II. However, the Thompson M1A1 AKA Tommy gun, has existed in civilian and federal configurations for many years prior.
The M1A1 model was adapted for military use and featured a smooth barrel without cooling elements, a more straightforward iron sight, a modified blowback action, and a side-mounted charging handle.
This replica incorporates all design elements of the M1A1 and is extremely comfortable to hold at a staggering 3 kg.
The exterior faux-wood furniture is made from Polymer that is sufficiently thick to feel convincing and has been lacquered to achieve a realistic lacklustre sheen.
The battery is housed in the rear stock, which features a unique spring-loaded rotating baseplate that makes battery installation exceedingly simple. This replica can accommodate virtually any battery as long as it is compatible with a Mini Tamiya connector and does not exceed 9.6v NiMH or 7.4v LiPO.
The handguard and stock of the RIF feature front and rear sling hooks for attaching the included sling or your own. Please note that the included holster is not of the highest quality, so we recommend purchasing an aftermarket one.
The RIF performs well both indoors and outdoors, with a chronograph reading of FPS using a 0.2g BB, making it suitable for outdoor use provided you set the HOP correctly to a 0.25g+ BB, and it will more than excel in CQB engagements due to its short overall length and manageable yet realistic weight.
The Fire/Safe/Semi-Auto controls are separated on the receiver to match the real-world design of the firing controls.
The counterfeit charging handle is functional, allowing you to operate the bolt after a magazine change for movie-worthy moments.
The rotary HOP unit is readily accessible from the side of the receiver, and the BB weight should be increased to increase backspin and effective range.
This Airsoft replica would be a great addition to any collector's arsenal, particularly WW2/Vietnam/earlier skirmishers who don't have the largest selection of reliable RIFs. You will not be dissatisfied with the M1A1's performance in comparison to modern replicas, let alone historical ones.
