The VMP-1X keeps the same strong yet lightweight polymer receiver found in the rest of the series, tipping the scales at just over 2.1kg with the suppressor attached. The suppressor fits via a clever 360° twist-lock system that mates with the oversized flash hider, snapping into place with a press and quarter-turn. The look is aggressive and purposeful, and while the suppressor isn’t internally threaded for a tracer unit, it can house one – just pop one inside and you’re ready to light up the night.

The VMP-1X has no shortage of rail space, either. A full-length 20mm Picatinny rail runs along the top, flanked by low-profile fibre optic sights for quick acquisition. You’ve also got a 20mm under-barrel rail for foregrips and two 7-slot side rails for lights or lasers. Control placement is spot-on, too. Bolt release, mag release, and fire selector are all positioned within easy reach of your firing hand, and the trigger features a built-in safety that requires a full, deliberate pull – helping to avoid accidental discharges during intense play. Reloads are quick and tactile, the bolt has a satisfying mechanical clunk, and full-auto dumps are grin-inducing every time.
