Ares/RWA APR-007 Korth Sky Marshal CO2-Powered Airsoft Revolver in Black

The Ares/RWA APR-007 Korth Sky Marshal is a compact CO2-powered airsoft pistol that takes the traditional six-shot revolver and gives it a distinctly modern, tactical character. Produced by ARES and RWA under official Korth Waffen licensing, this 1:1 scale airsoft revolver combines a full-metal frame with rubberised grip panels, realistic individual cartridges and a matte black finish. It has the reassuring weight and mechanical feel you'd expect from a premium wheel gun, but features such as an adjustable TDC hop-up and unusual 90-degree Picatinny rails mean there's considerably more going on here than good looks and licensed markings.

Starting at the muzzle, the Sky Marshal has a short, purposeful front end that suits its compact defensive-revolver styling. Inside is a stainless steel inner barrel working alongside a TDC adjustable hop-up system. TDC, or Top Dead Centre, adjustment applies pressure centrally from above the hop rubber, allowing the amount of backspin placed on the 6mm BB to be fine-tuned. That's particularly welcome on a shell-loading airsoft gun, where adjustable hop isn't always a given. Set up correctly for your chosen BB weight, it provides useful control over trajectory and makes the Sky Marshal much more than a revolver intended purely for display or close-range plinking.

The front end also carries one of the Korth's most distinctive practical features: dual Picatinny accessory rails positioned at 90 degrees. Rather than simply bolting a conventional rail underneath the barrel, the arrangement provides mounting points for compatible compact accessories while maintaining the revolver's unusual profile. It gives the APR-007 a properly tactical appearance without disguising what it is. For CQB-oriented setups or players experimenting with compact illumination accessories, there's useful flexibility here that you rarely find on a traditional airsoft revolver.

Moving back to the frame, the full-metal construction gives the Sky Marshal a dense and reassuring feel in the hand. This isn't a lightweight polymer airsoft gun with a few metal parts added for decoration; the metal body is a major part of the handling experience. Official Korth Waffen licensing and markings reinforce the replica character, while the understated black finish suits the angular, modern shape nicely. The rubberised grip panels then provide a useful change in texture, helping you maintain a secure hold whether you're shooting bare-handed or wearing gloves.

At the heart of the Sky Marshal is a six-shot cylinder using realistic 9mm-style metal shells. Each cartridge holds a single 6mm BB, so loading is much closer to the traditional revolver experience than inserting a conventional pistol magazine. Open the cylinder, load six shells and you're ready to go. Capacity is obviously modest compared with a magazine-fed sidearm, but that's part of the attraction. Every shot becomes a little more deliberate, and every reload involves actually interacting with the mechanism rather than simply dropping one magazine and inserting another.

ARES and RWA make that six-round system more practical by including a full moon clip, allowing the cartridges to be handled together rather than individually. The platform is also compatible with suitable Ares 686 moon clips and speed loaders, giving regular users the option of preparing additional reloads. Anyone who has attempted to feed individual revolver shells back into a cylinder while wearing gloves will immediately understand the attraction. Six loose cartridges can develop an impressive talent for finding the least convenient corner of your kit.

The firing mechanism supports both double-action and single-action operation. Double action allows the trigger movement to operate the mechanism and fire in one continuous pull, which is useful when a quicker follow-up shot is required. Alternatively, manually cocking the hammer gives you the more deliberate single-action sequence and a different trigger feel for carefully aimed shots. It's exactly the sort of tactile interaction that makes a gas or CO2 airsoft revolver enjoyable. You're not simply pressing a trigger six times; the controls and mechanical operation become part of using the gun.

Power comes from a standard 12g CO2 capsule concealed inside the grip, keeping the outside of the revolver free from a conventional removable gas magazine. CO2 suits the solid metal construction particularly well and provides the sharp firing response associated with this style of airsoft pistol. Actual output and capsule efficiency will naturally vary according to ambient temperature, BB weight, firing speed and seal condition, so the revolver should always be chronographed with the ammunition you intend to use before skirmishing. For storage, removing the CO2 capsule rather than leaving the system permanently pressurised is also sensible routine maintenance.

As a complete package, the Ares/RWA APR-007 Korth Sky Marshal sits in an interesting space between collector replica and genuinely usable specialist sidearm. The licensed 1:1 presentation and realistic metal shells provide the visual and mechanical detail collectors want, while the TDC adjustable hop-up, stainless steel inner barrel and accessory mounting options give skirmishers something practical to work with. It's particularly well suited to CQB, target shooting, realism-focused games or simply players who want an airsoft gun with considerably more personality than another conventional semi-automatic sidearm.

The included equipment rounds things off nicely. Along with the revolver itself you receive six realistic metal shells, a full moon clip and a padded hard shell carry case for storage and transport. The APR-007 isn't attempting to win an ammunition-capacity contest; six rounds make that fairly obvious. Instead, it offers full-metal handling, authentic shell loading, modern hop adjustment and genuine Korth licensing in one compact package. If the ritual of loading cartridges, closing the cylinder and thumbing back a hammer sounds more appealing than carrying another box-fed airsoft pistol, the Korth Sky Marshal has plenty of character to offer.
