Ceramic silicon nitride ball bearings are the best choice for AEG users who want the best performance possible from their devices. In addition to being faster and lighter than steel ball bearings, ceramic ball bearings have a cleaner surface that makes them less likely to rub against each other. This means that less heat is produced. Because they have less of a thermal profile, updated gearboxes are more likely to not have expensive problems.
ASG ULTIMATE ceramic ball bearings have several key advantages:
- Lighter - The ceramic ball is lighter and exerts less outward force against the outer race grove as the bearing spins. This reduction in force reduces the friction and rolling resistance which greatly reduces heat build-up.
- Harder - The ceramic balls last up to 10 times longer than steel balls due to their superior ability to holds its finish. Seven balls have been chosen, offering less centrifugal than bigger six ball versions, reducing heat and track wear in high-speed conditions.
- Smoother - The ceramic ball has smoother surface properties than the steel ball. This means less friction between the ball and bearing races, giving you a faster spinning bearing and less heat build-up.
- Thermal - The ceramic ball has better thermal properties than the steel ball. Thermal expansion is only a third of steel balls thus further reducing heat build-up.
- Lubrication - The ceramic balls are impervious to oxidation, chemicals, and essentially require no lubricant. The bearings are lubricated with a very small amount of oil, not a gel or grease.
