S&T - ST870 Police Spring-Powered Full Metal Airsoft Shotgun in Silver with Real Wood (STSPG07SVS)

The S&T ST870 Police Spring-Powered shotgun is a refreshing change from the rails, polymer furniture and matt-black finishes found on so many modern airsoft platforms. Modelled around the unmistakable lines of a traditional police pump-action, the ST870 combines a full metal receiver and barrel assembly with genuine wood furniture and an eye-catching nickel silver finish. It's an airsoft gun with plenty of old-school character, whether you're putting together a law-enforcement-inspired loadout, adding something different to a collection, or simply fancy working a pump action instead of pulling the trigger on another AEG.

Starting at the muzzle and working backwards, the ST870 has a full metal barrel assembly that gives the front end a reassuringly substantial feel. The silver finish runs through the metalwork and contrasts beautifully with the natural colour and grain of the wooden pump grip. Because this is genuine wood rather than wood-effect ABS, variations in tone and grain are part of the package. The pump itself provides the manual action that defines this spring-powered design: cycle the forend to cock the mechanism, take your shot, then rack it again. No battery, no gas and no wondering whether you remembered to charge something the night before.

The full metal receiver continues the solid construction and helps give the ST870 the weight and handling expected from a traditional full-length airsoft shotgun. Rather than fitting a large protruding magazine that would spoil those classic lines, S&T uses a low-profile 21-round magazine. It keeps the underside relatively uncluttered while providing a practical ammunition supply for deliberate, single-shot shooting. A trigger-area safety is also fitted, giving you a straightforward way of placing the replica on safe when you're not actively firing.

Behind the receiver sits the real wood shoulder stock, completing the ST870's silver-and-timber appearance. At approximately 930mm long, this isn't trying to be a stubby CQB blaster; it has the proportions and presence of a conventional police-style pump gun. The fixed stock gives you a consistent shoulder position, while integrated front and rear sling attachment points provide the option of fitting a suitable sling. That's particularly useful during longer skirmishes, because carrying a full-length metal-and-wood replica around all day soon makes a sling seem like a very clever invention indeed.

Mechanically, the ST870 keeps things deliberately straightforward. It is entirely spring powered, so each shot requires the pump action to be cycled manually. There are no batteries, motors, gearboxes or gas systems involved, making the operating principle simple and dependable. The quoted muzzle velocity is approximately 380-400 FPS when measured with 0.20g BBs, although actual chronograph readings can vary between individual examples and testing conditions. Given that level of output, always check your site's velocity and energy limits before taking it into a skirmish.

The manual action also gives the ST870 a very different rhythm from an electric or gas-powered airsoft gun. You're not going to produce a wall of BBs by holding down a trigger, and that's really part of the appeal. Each shot involves physically cycling the action before getting back onto the sights. For target shooting it's satisfyingly mechanical, while during games it encourages more considered shooting and makes every reload and pump of the action part of the experience.

Where this particular ST870 really earns its place is in the combination of materials and styling. Plenty of pump-action replicas can do the practical bit, but genuine wood furniture against nickel silver metalwork gives this version a personality of its own. The receiver and barrel are metal, the stock and pump grip are real wood, and the overall construction incorporates metal, ABS and timber components where appropriate. It's visually much closer to a traditional sporting or police shotgun than the heavily accessorised tactical designs that dominate the modern airsoft market.

For collectors, the S&T ST870 Police makes an especially interesting display piece because the silver finish and natural wood furniture immediately separate it from more conventional black replicas. For players, its simple spring operation means you can grab the gun, load the 21-round magazine and get shooting without preparing gas or charging a battery. It won't replace an AEG when sheer rate of fire is the priority, but that's missing the point somewhat. The ST870 is about straightforward operation, realistic pump-action handling and the tactile appeal of metal and genuine wood. If those qualities are high on your list, this is a distinctive airsoft shotgun with bags of traditional character.
